This has happened before, of course. One wonders who is in charge: the author’s control during life (or death), the readers who want more, or the driving power of consumption and money?

A lot of articles like this. But in almost none of the “analyses” of reasons (Covid, anxieties, home hardship, etc.) does anyone discuss relevance. When schools insist upon “buckling down” to pre-Covid “normalcy” and argue about banning tech from classrooms and curriculum, it’s a willful turning away from students’ lives.
